Wild & Wonderful Adventures in Tanzania
Tanzania, world famous for super abundant wildlife, is widely regarded as the ultimate home of safari experiences in Africa. Boasting some of the most breathtaking wildlife viewing and tracking in the world, an incredible 25% of Tanzania is protected by national parks - estimated to support roughly 20% of Africa's mammal population. Tanzania is also home to the world-renowned Serengeti - an extraordinarily vast plain (5,700 square miles - ten times larger than the Masai Mara), designated UNESCO World Heritage Site for its unique ecosystem and biodiversity.
Serengeti ranks amongst the top prime locations to view hordes of amazing wildlife, including the ‘Big Five’ as well as cheetah and crocodile. Serengeti is also home to one of the most spectacular shows of the natural world - The Wildebeest Migration, the largest wildlife migration on earth. Every year, over 2 million wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and other wildlife, migrate in a clockwise direction across the Serengeti (Tanzania) and Masai Mara (Kenya). With thundering hooves, they embark on this annual migration across the vast savannah in search of water during the dry season (between July and October), all the while being tracked by hungry predators along the way. Whilst the vast majority of the herd will make it asafely cross the Mara, the challenges and struggles these animals face in their quest for survival make compelling viewing.
Meanwhile, Africa’s highest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro looms majestically with brightly snow-capped peaks forming the perfect backdrop for unforgettable experiences. Beyond wildlife, Tanzania is also blessed with beautiful beaches such as those found on the spice island of Zanzibar - which tantalises with turquoise shades, white shimmering sands and UNESCO heritage, making Tanzania all the more alluring for any African safari enthusiast or first-timer.
